Craig was a corporate and commercial lawyer in the first part of his career, becoming a partner at Sydney specialist corporate/commercial firm, Rosenblum & Partners, in 1993, and a partner at Blake Dawson Waldron (now Ashurst) following the merger of those two firms.

He subsequently joined Goldman Sachs as a director in investment banking, and later joined Citigroup in Australia where he also worked as a director in investment banking and became Chief Operating Officer.

Following a sea-change and move to the North Coast of NSW, Craig went to the NSW bar in 2007 where he has a broad practice in civil litigation including probate, general equity, real property, building and construction, and general commercial. He appears principally in the Supreme and District Courts of NSW, the Federal Court and NCAT, and occasionally in the courts of Queensland.
