Criminal Law
Simon was first admitted to the NSW Bar in 1992 and practised in criminal law defence work for two years before taking up the position of Principal Solicitor of the South Coast Aboriginal Legal Service where he led a team of lawyers for a number of years.
Upon returning to Sydney he took up a position as a solicitor with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, then as a trial advocate, before again returning to the bar upon his appointment as a Crown Prosecutor in 2002. He returned to the private bar in 2020 and has practised in defence work since that time. He has extensive experience in every facet of the criminal law, having appeared in many District Court trials as well as appearing in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, the Children’s Court, the Coroner’s Court and the Local Court.
